I have been waiting till we got our car brakes replaced to talk about this (didn’t want to jinks it!) but Michael and I will be moving at the beginning of September. We aren’t moving far, only 1.3 miles down the road but we are moving into a town house (the second door from the road and mail boxes will be ours, they are renovating it at the moment.)
Michael and I decided we wanted to move after the fire because we just don’t feel safe in such tight quarters anymore. No matter how careful we are, we still could loose everything because of a neighbor’s carelessness. We still have neighbors in the townhouse but only two rather then eleven.
This new place also has a lot of perks that we have been wanting, including a nearly equal price to what we are currently paying for rent (only about $20 more.) The townhouse has more room: two bedroom, one and a half bath and a larger kitchen (which will be really useful for my candle business.) It has a washer and dried too (yippie! no more getting quarters!) It has a fireplace like our currently place (but with a mantel shelf this time) and tons of closet space – the whole area under the stairs is accessible for storage too. It has a small fenced patio out back that is concert with a little dirt strip for gardening. I can also garden out front on either side of my steps. I will probably still mainly use planters. Lastly, the units are managed by our current land lady, who is an awesome person who gets stuff done in a timely fashion, so if we have to keep renting (which we do) I would rather keep renting from her.
I am excited, just over a month from now we will be moving. I have started packing up the stuff that we do not use to often. I want to finish woodburning our altar before moving too (which Doom made us for our handfasting) so it can be the first thing to move into the new place and we can do a home blessing ritual.
