The nursing bras I wore (and still wear because nothing else fits!!) are Playtex. They are kinda lacy, but they worked great for breastfeeding. I guess my breasts didn't get that big because I couldn't supply enough milk to feed my daughter. At least she is a happy, healthy 13-month-old!! (Actually, she's got a double ear infection, her first since she's been born, and a slight cold.) Anyways, those Playtex bras can be found at KMart and are quite comfortable if you get the right size. They are the same price as any average bra, which makes them not exactly cheap but not exactly expensive, either. I can't remember how much they were exactly because my mom bought them for me. A friend gave me some disposable ones and they are itchy (like a maxipad on my nipple) and I soaked through them just with colostrum in half a day! They will also shrink and grow somewhat over the course of the day (filling up and emptying with feedings). Go to a pregnancy boutique store for a true fitting, but don't buy bras there unless they're marked way down. Pregnancy stores tend to sell very cheaply made, yet somehow very overpriced, goods. I bet you can find some online for a reasonable price, or eBay may be an excellent place to shop. I bought nursing bras from Target, usually whatever was on clearance in my size. Heavy cotton, no fancy stuff. I wear underwire in civilian life (38C), but did not for nursing (40DD/F). The bras need to be stretchy but very supportive, but it's good to have one very soft, not so supportive one just for sleeping in (to keep those pads on you at night).
