What makes a bird a songbird is that it belongs to the order of passeriforms. Passerine birds are perching birds with three toes in front and one in back. They are small- to medium-sized and often brightly colored. The smallest is the short-tailed pygmy-tyrant at 2.6 inches of length and a weight of 4.2 grams (0.15 oz). The largest is the common raven at 22-27 inches and 1.5-3.6 pounds. Passerines make up more than half of all bird species.

Blackburnian Warbler Orange with a white belly.

Altamira Oriole No white belly, but very nice orange.

whatbird.com seems like a really nice website, and what I used to find the two above. If you click on search you can restrict the searches by colors, bill type etc.
