Drive by Fruitings

grapes
It’s been a busy day and if you follow me on twitter you might have noticed a series of maddening clues (or at least they were maddening to some who follow me.) I had my ultrasound, Michael brought home grapes and Shannon cut my hair. So to satisfy the curious:

Those grapes… After my ultrasound, Michael brought home a case of organic red seedless ones, waaay more then we could ever eat. Well, I probably could have eaten them all, but that might not have been the healthiest choice. So we loaded some of them up and randomly dropped them off at our friends’ houses. Spreading the love via drive by fruitings. It is nice when you know how to get into your friends’ homes when they are not home, maybe a little creepy, but cool.

Shannon was home though and she attacked me with a pair of shears. It worked out delightfully well though, I love the haircut. Pardon the darkness of the photo, I have had to resort to my camera phone till the new one arrives. Cute though, no? I still have my 12-inch pony tail in my backpack though, in case I get hair withdrawal.

So that was pretty much my day.

Oh wait, the ultrasound? Were you curious about that? Well, apparently you can get pregnant before your period returns after giving birth (about a 2% possibility) and then have a 10 day heavy period when you are about 5 weeks into it (not sure the probability there but it is unusual.) The baby is fine, no worries. Yes, there is only one. I’m at about 20 weeks instead 15, which changes my due date to around December 2nd, maybe a Thanksgiving baby?

We are very excited and relieve it is not twins. I am reluctant to share the sex for fear of being inundated with piles of blindingly pink things but I suppose that kind of gives it away doesn’t it? It’s a girl, her name will be Ivy Eleanor Stewart.

I am soooo relieved you are not having twins!! And don’t stock up on pink things. Ultrasounds can be misread, although they are right more than they are wrong. How nice to find out you are a month ahead.

    Yay! Congratulations!

And having been the big sister of twins…
Yay! Congratulations! LOL Let’s hear it for fringe biology and odd math!

Can’t stand pink myownself. Or frills. Ivy will just have to wear chic French couture, I’m thinking. With that lovely name, of course she will.

    All the best,
    Eve

    Hey, Turkey Babies are great!

Wow, a whole 5 weeks difference. I think twins would have been cool, but it’s a lot of work for the parents. A little girl is sweet. :)

I think the only person who has expressed the same relief you have is the other mother I know with twins :-P . I’m glad I’m not the only one so relieved!

If I have my way there will be no pink involved, I think it is as overdone as blue for boys, but admittedly I wouldn’t mind a few cute green dresses…

    Thank you!

My maternal grandmother’s name is Eleanor and I have always adored the name. Michael and I decided on Ivy before we knew what Damian was and still love it.

Thank you! On some people, my sister-in-law for example, look amazing in pink. I however feel like I look like an undercooked lobster, besides pink clashes blindingly with all the orange we have. :-P

Once against the mystery of pregnancy persists! I am excited about it being a girl but terrified at the same time. Time to find out if karma exists! XD

I had an Aunt Ivy. When I was growing up she lived a couple of houses down the street and I would always visit in hopes of getting one of those delicious date cookies she would make.

I, too, am relieved the babies are arriving one at a time. My first 2 and last 2 were close together and always great friends. Don’t worry about the colors, now days anything goes. When your Aunt Ruth was born (first and only girl) someone sent me a wardrobe of pale mauve. I gave it all away – as a baby it was not her color.
As I now have a great grandson and a great granddaughter (1 year on July 8 ) I shall rejoice with whatever arrives. (He/she) and Damian will be best friends.

    Love Nana T.
