On Saturday I went to my very first hockey game, Daddy got tickets from work. We saw the Spokane Chiefs at the Spokane Arena, they played the Tri-Cities Americans (boooo). It was fun! I liked Boomer the Bear (the team mascot.)

I loooove the color red so it was so cool watching the Chiefs since they have bright red jerseys. Mommy even bought me a Chiefs onesie, it is size 12M and fits! I am not even 4 months old yet! They had baby sized jerseys (which were all red) too but Mommy thought $40 was an insane price.

This was the home opener. Last season we won the Memorial Cup (sorry Kitchener, bwahahaha!) so they showed that off, lowering it from the roof with cables, it was sooooo shiny. The arena was sold out and it got really really loud. It was a little overstimulating after awhile so I fell asleep in the wrap with Mommy.

We won the game! 4 to 0! People went really crazy when the Chiefs scored with horns and cow bells and screaming. Some people are really passionate about their sports.

Mommy and Daddy say they are going to raise me with the Chiefs so I expect to go to many more games. Sounds fun but I hope it is a little quieter next time.

Since I have gotten a few emails lately just asking how I am doing in general I thought I would share the update with all my readers too.

I’m doing great, fantastically busy though. Michael’s boss is away on business this week so he is going in early. I’ve been able to enjoy a couple (very) early morning sunrise walks. Damian is not a morning person so he sleeps in the wrap while I walk.

Our little guy has also recently figured out how to roll over and now he is trying his very hardest to crawl. I am sure it will only be a matter of time before he is zooming around. We went to WIC today and he is off the charts in growth, woohoo! Also found out the income range for food stamps in dropping in October so we quality. Damian is most of the reason I don’t blog very often. Not apologizing for that though, blogging should never be a chore.

I am working on setting up a podcast though, so I can talk about all the ideas rolling around my head, as my hands are not free to type. It will be mostly centered on Pagan topics, we have a website for it already (under construction) and I have Samhain as my goal for launching it. We’ll see how that goes. My friend Andrea gave me the most awesome tagline for it, but you’ll have to wait to hear it. I am not shooting for it to be hugely popular, just an outlet for my intellectual side, who is getting a little tired of 24/7 baby speak.

Politics. People keep asking me about this, which I find immensely amusing. I think most of you know this but though I live in good old Washington State, I am a Canadian. Hence I cannot vote. If you must know though, I am fiscally conservative who believes in social freedom. I am told makes me a Libertarian, but I do not support Bob Barr. I supported Ron Paul but since he did not win the Republican spot, that choice is out. I don’t hate McCain, but considering he will probably die in office I have decided that I cannot stand the thought of Palin as president (as a non-Christian I cannot bring myself to support someone openly opposed to non-Christians and who supports people who believe in prosecuting others for witchcraft.) I don’t like Obama either. So plainly put, there is currently no candidate I would vote for (but since, like I said, I am Canadian, it really doesn’t matter.)

Canada… That reminds me, the Spokane Chiefs’ home opener against Tri-Cities in this Saturday. We have tickets from Michael’s work! Damian’s first hockey match! I wish I had a tiny jersey for him… (EDIT: omg!)

Politics and hockey aside, the economic downturn as of late has its perks. Michael and I are looking to buying a home this coming year! (After February.) I doubt the housing market will rebound in that time. There is an area of Spokane Valley that we explored today and quite like. It is near the highway so prices are low but the area is still good with lot sizes that are 1/3 acre or more. Our neighbor’s sister is selling a 3 bedroom house on a 1/3 of an acre out there for a nice price. We’ll see if it is still on the market next summer though, if not there are plenty more houses in the area for sale.

Anyhow, time to go veg with my guys.
(Go Chiefs!)
